Jacob Weiss: The Man, the Myth, the Legend

Hello, needless to say I am Jacob Weiss: the man, the myth, and the legend.  This summer, I will be embarking on the Abbey Road Western Civilization Program, and updating whomever it may concern, i.e. all of mankind, with entries, photos, and videos on this blog, while I am on my journey.  As you can tell by my usage of the abbreviation "i.e." (short for id est, a phrase which means "that is"), I am especially passionate about Latin, and will be ending each of my blog entries with a Latin quotation or sentence to make this project extra personal, and extra awesome.  It is especially fitting that one of our destinations on our trip is Rome, and I am very excited to get the opportunity to read original Latin text whether it be on the wall of the Coliseum or the Forum Boarium.  I also enjoy Chemistry and History.  At my school, Edgemont High School in Scarsdale, New York, I am a three season athlete, playing on my school's varsity soccer, basketball, and tennis teams.  Playing sports, as well as watching sports, is one of my passions.  I am a huge Giants and Mets fan, and a "Lebron James-Hater", as ESPN's own Stephen A. Smith would refer to me.  My hatred for Lebron James stemmed out of a sincere admiration for his skill and accolades as a player.  When he was on the Cavs, I  was one of his biggest supporters, but, when he "took his talents to South Beach", I disowned him out of sympathy for the Cleveland, the city in which my dad grew up.  I cannot wait to see Athens, Rome, Florence, and Paris!  I will post a video.  Next time, I will be sure to include a pre-trip reflection, outlining all of the things I am most excited for, and my plan to take Europe by storm.

"Sane, paululum linguae latinae dico"
Sure, I speak a little Latin
